SCAM / SPAM Scam claiming to be from Ofcom saying that my phone line has been hacked. The menu says press 1 for BT, but we're with Virgin anyway! Checked with Virgin and it's a scam number.
As previous comments, won a prize. I have read on other sites that even pressing button to opt out can incur charges. Don t know if this is the case with this number. Just add to auto-reject.

Automated call rang several times before 9am on a Saturday morning. Wouldn’t leave message they didn’t answer then left automated message stating stay on the line.
Caller initially claimed to be calling from the University of Sussex, asking me to undertake an online research survey. Then they wanted our email address, and I enquired why was that necessary if the survey was online - all they needed to do was provide me with the web address. The caller later later confirmed they were an independent market research company , and continued to ask for my email address. Of course, I never provided it.

Just spoken to O2 regarding this number and the calls my wife had been getting. They confirmed that the number does belong to O2 and is not a scam, it is their Customer Research (for want of a better description) calling to ensure she was getting the right deal for her and to see if she wanted to upgrade, so I suppose they re Market Research/Sales. Perfectly safe to answer. If in doubt, just don t give answers to questions you feel uncomfortable about.
