SCAM Cold caller, pretending to be working on behalf of Microsoft advising me that I am being targeted by hackers. Goes through a spiel involving talking me through looking at the 'event viewer' utility on my PC and asking me to note the number 'Administrative events' with warnings listed in the viewer. This he advisies means that I am under attack - (BTW it does not). The tries to talk me into downloading 'anydesk' - I did not because it would allow access to my PC.

Jimmy (Indian) called from Utility Hub to say that, because I hadn't made any callouts from my (non-existent) cover for a lot of things, I was entitled to a discount on my (non-existent) direct debit. He then passed me to Emma (again Indian) who, when I said that I couldn't trace Utility Hub , told me to see Heating and Home), whose website looks quite genuine. I listened patiently until she asked me to confirm my sort code, when I told her that she wouldn't get any bank details.

Fraud A friend of mine had money disappearing from her bank account, she's Burmese and her English isn't so good so I looked into it for her. Turns out it's a company called Florist-world.com that took 2 euro from her account then took 24 euro every 2 weeks. I finally found emails from them in her spam folder, they'd somehow managed to get hold of her debit card number and were taking 24 Euro every 2 weeks, the last email said that amount was increasing to 44 Euro. This number rang our landline and asked for my husband by his first name only. Once speaking to him the male caller (African type accent) claimed to be from Sky and started asking questions - my husband's surname, security password, mother's maiden name etc. Unfortunately for him, my husband was not the easy touch he was obviously expected to be and the caller got no information out of him!
