Had a voicemail from this no. (very scripted). Northern Gas & Power trying to sell energy. I don't think it's a scam (and if legit their reviews on trustpilot seem reasonable). That said it was an unsolicited sales call, and I don't look after the gas and electricity anyway!

Another damn nuisance call. Some recorded woman's voice trying to convince me there are two fraudulent transactions on my bank account, press number one to get details etc. As it happened, I'd just been checking my bank account online, but I wouldn't have believed her anyway, as that's not the way my bank would contact me. This pathetic scam originated from a number in Knighton, a small town in Powys about ten miles from my house. Whoever you are, try and get a life!

An Indian sounding gentleman on a very bad line, claimed to be calling me from Currys PCWorld with a promotion to upgrade my cellphone (his term) for no charge, could I just confirm what phone I currently had? As I do not have a mobile contract through Currys PCWorld I knew this was a scam call and hung up.

DANGER ! Definitely Spam. Lady with Indian accent as O2 customer service telling me they had received multiple complaints about signal problem. I said I was satisfied with signal coverage. She then tried to give me a number to call back. I challenged her and told her I thought she not not legit. She started arguing. I said a real customer agent would not argue like that. Scam and/or phishing attempt. It attempted to get me to message the phone number via WhatsApp. The person had sent an SMS from another number (07566706069) claiming to have dropped their phone down the toilet and that they’d instantly acquired a new phone. They asked me to message specifically via WhatsApp (???). This is the fourth message I’ve had this week, from a variety of unknowns, being asked to message a new number by someone claiming to have lost/damaged their phone.
