A foreign sounding man introduced himself as John Parker and said I was due for refund of bank charges. I gave him my dob (I recently claimed charges and for a second thought it was genuine.)I would never give bank details and said so. I just said Lloyds bank(not true).He said his boss will phone me today. They called this morn and I didn t answer. Dreading the phone ringing now and worried giving my dob was a dangerous thing. He didn t swear but got more impatient as the call went on.

Said they were BT. Lots of background noise so I challenged with "sounds very noisy for BT". Said that I used to be a BT customer and they wanted to offer me deals to welcome me back. I asked when their records indicated I was a BT customer (they didn t know). They asked about my package. I told them Virgin TV/phone/internet and they kept upping my speed of internet. They said "You re on fibre optic then?" I confirmed I was happy with Virgin so the call ended.

Smiths have called me numerous times from numerous numbers over the years. Have spoken to Gary twice this week who assures me my number has now been deleted. I m registered with TPS but that doesn t seem to matter to them. Would never use this company.

Claimed to be Amazon, saying I’d bought a gift card for £49.99 and they wanted to check this was correct, and if it wasn’t did I want to cancel the order. I said it wasn’t me and I’d like to cancel (but was already suspicious - who buys a gift card for £49.99, rather than £50?!), then they started asking about which device I’d like the refund processed via. When I asked more questions about my concerns that this was a scam call they hung up.

I ve received a call on my mobile phone today from 0161 939 0236 telling me that I ve had a loan and I m entitled to a refund plus interest because I was mis sold the loan. In the first place neither my husband or myself have had a loan from our bank or on any credit card. The caller went on to name all the credit cards that I could own and from any bank (naming banks) that I may have had a card or loan from. Retarded call system means you wait a while to have the "agent" speak to you. Rude staff, the typical rubbish ambulance chasing type. Report to the ICO, this practice is bad enough without having a two bit con firm deliver these calls at a very low standard even for this industry, should be closed down.
