I told them that if I was going to follow their advice, then I wouldn't be protected by the FSA (Financial Services Authority). I received a txt asking if I made a transaction to DHL for £1,400 didn't say from which bank/building Society so don't know if its genuine or not. Txt Y back if you made the transaction but if not call 08432896064 which I have done 4 times. They don't answer with a name of the company and keep you on the phone in a queue system I gave up at 20 minutes. I still do not know if it is a scam or genuine which is a pain. Going to ring BT to see what they say.
Apparently they just called my number accidentally.

This number rang my elderly mum earlier saying they were sending a courier to her address witb a PPI cheque but that she needed to buy an itunes card to receive this cheque. I rang the number back & was given lots of abuse when told them i'd purchased the card but refused to give them the 16 diget code ..... POLICE INFORMED.
have just received a call from this number to our landline. Today, the american accented voice was identified as 'Shirley' professing to be from our internet provider and saying that our computer had been 'compromised' from various countries and they needed to access our router to 'sort the problem'. At that point I ended the call and added the number to our list of blocked callers.
this is so frustrating - these numbers come up that look like real numbers and then either it's someone about an accident or just silent. Why can't they be stopped?
