these people rang me 4 times and on 4th, I told them not to call again and remove my number but they hung up . 45 minutes later they rang a 5th time, so I used language they may more understand. Do not answer !!!!!

Asian lady, who I couldn't understand, claiming to be from the government department claims advisory group. Apparently they had a cheque to send me for overpaid bank charges. Told her to send it to me, but she wanted my DOB. When challenged that surely they knew this as they had my name and number and address etc, then they must already have my DOB, she said it was for verification, at which point I thanked her for the call (it included a few expletives) and hung up. Do not engage with them.

The clue is in the number. Apart from inner city London, when last I looked, all UK numbers begin with 01. Clive, Peter, Brian Stephen etc are NOT popular names in India as these people would have you believe. The bottom line is a simple one, if you don’t recognise the number, don’t answer. Received multiple calls from this number to my Skype number. When I answered the call, the other end just hung up - robocall. When I called back, I got a recorded message: "You were called by Solar Panel Funding. If you do not wish to be called again, please press 1 or hold and we will connect you to the next available agent. " When I stayed on the line, the call was answered by a human "Hello. You're through to Eco-Telecoms. How can I help you."
