Automated call claiming to be from HMRC

Scam caller claiming to be from Virgin. The call was made by an official sounding call centre (the woman sounded Indian). She claimed that there has been suspicious activity from unknown IP addresses using my account and that it was being used for criminal activity and that she needed to help me protect my firewalls etc. I immediately became suspicious as I'd heard of such calls being made and told her that I'd call Virgin directly to resolve any issues. Scam alert. Claim to be from company called Fair trading. Say thrybhave good news with regards to refund owed for shares stuck in trading account. They seem to have your name from somewhere as use it at start. Looking to get your details and take your money.

It's a spam number sending the text message on your phone about your delivery has been redirected to your local branch due to an unpaid shipping fee.

Claimed to be able to save me money on my mobile phone bill. Claimed originally to be from EE, but that isn't my provider, he then argued with me about my provider - he eventually hung up. I always keep them talking as much as possible to save the next poor victim.

Automated voice messaging informing that £500 for gambling + another amount was taken from my account. I replaced the handset after being instructed to press 1, 2 or 3. Checked my account none the less. It was definitely a scammed call.

Seems to be one of these broadband scam outfits - claims to be from Virgin then BT.

Indian male called Alex purporting to be from BT telling me I had a problem with my internet and they were getting urgent error signals. I knew it was a hoax call, had them before, so asked him twice what the signals were and he put the phone down. I googled the number that came up, 01438 318251 and its for a homeless shelter in Stevenage. Indian scammers using business numbers for those that really need help! Sick b$%^A$%s!
