Call from 01314414605 Asian male saying he was from Virgin Media Technical Department and my internet speed was sending warning messages and not running correctly. Was asked to do a speed test and download an app. He was adamant he was from Virgin Media although he could not give any of my details to me. Needless to say I hung up. Just got a very strange call from this number saying it was hmrc and that I had been fraudulent ... and I needed to pay ... first they said £1900 then £1800 then £1700. They said if I didnt they would send the police to get me arrested ... he wouldnt give me any details of how they knew who I was and was quite bullying ... my hands are left shaking and then he put down the phone

when I answer a call from this number, they automatically dial another number which I would no doubt have to pay for if I did not hang up immediately. I hope these kind of calls can be stopped. I have, in the past, been called by the same method and have been charged for a premium rate number.

BNRoptions I never answered but somehow they had my work email address and they emailed me. they called twice in a row. Basically some financial investment nonsense.
Phoned to tell me my washing machine warranty has expired and they're sending me the new paperwork by Royal Mail. Read out to me my name and address and when I confirmed these was going to pass me to her "supervisor" to complete a form. Asked her to tell me what brand of washing machine I've actually got. Unsurprisingly she hung up. Don't know what the scam was going to be but clearly there is one
