SCAM Called on my mobile @ 20.00hrs. A Northampton dial code. Caller when questioned was from "the Philipines" looking to see if I qualify for "home insulation" funding. When asked how my phone number was accessed the caller hung up. Had this not been a recognised dial code I would not have answered the call. number now blocked. Also appears on missed calls list from yesterday @ 12.58hrs.

This number rang with an automated message saying it was the bank and there had been unusual activity on the account with two large transactions!
Another scam call from "The Advisors", trying to sell premium savings on life insurance. 'Paul' tells me their website is at theadvisors.co.uk - visiting that results in a rather empty webpage from the domain owner trying to sell the domain for £800. No proper website in place! It's the second call I've got from 'Paul' at The Advisors this week, I blocked his previous number, which was 07723553123. You can spot a pattern in these numbers, they're 0772355xxxx. Likely scam. They rang me. I picked up but didn't say anything into the phone. They didn't say anything either and then hung up. I always answer in this way when I receive an unexpected phone call from an unfamiliar number. Legitimate callers always say "hello" and try to get a response. Scammers hang up. It happens every time!

Possible scam. Women said she was from Amazon and they'd noticed unusual activity on my Mum's account. Told her to press 1 if she hadn't bought something for £700. Mum was suspicious, rang off, got the number by dialing 1471 then rang it back. Women who answered refused to give her name and said she hadn't called Mum and didn't work for a company.

Scam number. Tried to video call me on WhatsApp and then messaging me trying to say I was a man called Paul.
It says this is Clearanswer, a marketing company and one of BTs partners.....comments from the general public seem to suggest otherwise. A very foreign voice suggested my BT contract was coming to an end. I don’t discuss new contracts with a cold caller. When I said it wasn’t due to be renegotiated she hung up...not the sort of thing a genuine person would do.
