Said they were Mcafee support, handling issue relating to our home "network" which would mean all devices using network (he meant router) would shortly become infected and stop working. I got a call from an indian/Pakistan accent about a loan said he was Darren thought it was to do with family as the area code is the same.
This is a fake number used by scammers to try to get personal information about you. They sound very official and scary, suggesting legal action against you. I inadvertently provided them with my name, National Insurance number and name of bank before I realised that it was a phishing attempt. The caller spoke with a slightly American accent. I tried to call the number back, but it's invalid.
Called me to ask if I wanted a quote for driving school insurance. Sounded professional.
I strongly suspect a scam, judging from the amount of bank details asked for. Needless to say, I hung up. An alternative number:- 0203-007-916
