SCAM Some foreign (Indian as usual) scammer phoned and asked Mr (me by name) I answered yes and they said they were (English name, obviously made up and theirs for the day) and from Life Insurance. Then asked how I was doing and when I replied they just hung up. HOW RUDE! Pity really, as I pride myself on keeping them on the line as long as I can.

Very busy call centre background sound. Indian accent. Said they were BT and would have to cancel my internet for a month. Said I could verify they were telling the truth and could resolve if I had a PC to access my unique number. Told him it wasn't possible (no PC in the house) and he said if I wouldn't 'try' then 'do I want my internet disconnected'. Not exactly how even BT would speak to their customers. He finished with 'I'm gonna do what I have to do, as I'm paid to do it'. No idea who this was or what

Obviously a scam call - which has been successfully blocked by my BT Call Guardian - I have come to the conclusion this is the ONLY way to stop all this nonsense. Sorry to read post from person whose parents are dying - you should invest in call blocking software because it works like a magic trick! I keep a corded phone just to have the pleasure of hearing it ring once, seeing the phone symbol with a red line through it - and knowing the caller is receiving the "go away" message!
