Indian voice said from Microsoft. Told him to get lost. He said that because I was uncooperative he was going to block my computer, he was full of threats. That got me really going and I told him to get on and block it (there is NO way he could). After me making more comments to him he rang off. I think this is probably a Nigerian scammer who has been able to tack himself onto an English telephone number.

A call from Carphone warehouse, using a LOCAL code - ie - 01324 trying to deceive you into thinking it s a local call. You answer, and it s OBVIOUSLY a CALL Centre (by all the noise in the background) and on questioning the guy, is clearly NOT in the Falkirk area. This type of local call is being used more and more.

I received a call from this number just now. He said he was from a company called Technical Help Service and told me my computer had a virus. He tried to convince me using various methods including running the eventvwr (the errors listed there are not related to viruses!) This is identical to the well known Windows Technical Helpdesk scam. Spoke to "Dave" and to "John" who had so strong Indian accents, I think, and the background chatter in what was obviously a call centre that it was very hard to understand them. Both assured me that they were not selling anything but asked lots of personal questions.
