Just had a call from this number - 01252540329 - no sound then I said Hello and heard the click as it was sent to call centre - The operator (with a foreign accent) said Hello twice, I didn't reply and they hung up. Checked location and its leisure centre. This is probably a cloned number and have barred it.

This number called with message about "every house needs to be done by 2016" plus "we are in your area" last week - some solar panel scam. Didn t answer - the message is recorded on my answerphone. Same message from 01316483485 yesterday - same result. This lot have probably rented fake numbers from a major phone company which offers them on its web site. Some firms offer call centres numbers which give the person called the idea that it is a local call.

I always receive most unknown telephone calls altogether over a 24 hour period and then get nothing for 1-2 weeks. I received a call from somebody claiming to be from SSE. He wanted to talk about a new contract. He didn’t specify whether it was gas or electricity. I asked him to send your new prices by email. He seemed upset by this very simple request stating that it was impossible. I told him to call back when he had sent the email. He rang from this number 2 days later and came out with the same nonsense. He said he was Roger. I hung up and complained to SSE.
