Called asking for non-executive Director by name - "it s Johnny from the surveyors at Altus" were the words he used. I walked through to our Director and used the same words. Our Director said he won t take the call as he has no ongoing business with Altus and no imminent need. I returned to Johnny and advised this, to which he said "did you tell him it s a financial matter?". I responded, "No, because you didn t say it was. But he won t take the call". I managed to keep them on the line for 13 minutes whilst they gave instructions on running EventViewer as "proof" of all of the "Internet viruses infecting my computer" then the LogMeIn account that they would use to install malware on my machine. This is so that I could enter the 9-digit account on the "Abuse" section on LogMeIn.com to get it shut down... very important!

Spoke to an Indian man, who was concerned I'd downloaded many viruses over the last 3 months. I knew immediately that it was a scam, so wasted his time by "turning my computer on" very slowly and (very pleasantly) asking him plenty of questions about where he was calling from, why he was phoning on a bank holiday (to which he replied "I'm not calling from a bank) etc. He clamed he was based in Westminster and said his phone number was 0203 ........ Got bored of the poor quality phone line after a while and

Both the numbers 03332202550 and 01133 346537 are scam numbers NewDay Ltd and NewDay UK Ltd and Ne3 (and many other companies often registered at the same address may well be genuine registered companies. HOWEVER the name NewDay Ltd and other versions of the name are being fraudulently used by criminal parties to obtain money for non-existent depts. I received a call from this number - merely answered it and put it down as soon as I got the recorded ppi message. It then appeared on my bill as a 28 minute phone call TO this number (during which time the bill also shows I made another call!!) costing over £11. Vodafone promised to reimburse but haven t.
