I thought that I would not receive these sort of calls having paid to have calls vetted!!

Called today on mobile wanted to confirm my name and postcode and asking what mobile phone I used. Asked her why she needed that information and she put the phone down. Scammer obviously. Not answer phone.

I ignore all calls coming into my landline number until the caller speaks. If no one speaks within a few seconds, I assume that I ve been called by an autodialler which is activated by the sound of my voice, and because I ve remained silent.... nothing happens, or I hang up. I then dial 1471 for the number and Google it. I never call any numbers they ve left for me to call. If they are too lazy to make any effort to contact me themselves.... then their call can t be that important!

Had a call from this number just now. He said that he is from EE and started asking a lot of questions about my contact with EE. The sort of phone I am using, how long the contract is,...etc., I got suspicion because EE should have all those details without having to ask me especially as I am still in contract with them. very dodgy! I have had several missed calls so when I answered a guy with a northern accent asked for myself (although had my maiden name and I have been married for 6years!) then he said he was calling regarding my insurance up for renewal and asked if that was correct... there was something very dodgy about this guy though as he kept repeating himself and was also laughing!!! I just apologised and said I was at work and cut him off. I have since blocked the number!

Sent text message to my mobile claiming to be from BT - then asked name and BT number. I refused further information on the grounds that BT already have my address and was given some unbelievable story about my mobile number having come up in some other context. Two hours later, the same message arrived on my wife s mobile. Clearly some sort of scam but I do not know what.
