They ring me every day and I normally hang up the phone but today I answered and they asked if I was who I am and then said okay thank you bye didn t really understand the point of the call to be honest!!

Hal s reply is spot on. If someone sends a text message to your landline and you don t pick up the phone it gets stored for you to retrieve later. This 0795 number is where you collect the message, plus the number of the mobile phone that sent the text. It s not dangerous. All depends on what the text message says, of course - that could be anything. In my case it was someone texting to say Sorry I Missed Your Call. See? Not dangerous.

SCAM! Following several silent/scam calls, I normally screen all calls with my answering machine, but decided to pick up this time. Very suspicious callers. Claiming to be a Pensions firm asking for personal details including even your Nat Ins number which I did not divulge to them. Their response was to say "we cannot proceed any further without this". They do have English accents. My suspicions are confirmed when I try to call back on this number - phone just goes dead. If these people are not scammers - they do a very good impression of scammers.

This number calls daily once they have your number, whether you are registered with TPS or not! They are sometimes silent calls , sometimes you can hear an office in the back ground. Sometimes someone wants to know if you owe money on a credit card. I don t know if itis a scam. I do know it is a pain. Apparently this is Redress Claims .
