Sent text message to my mobile claiming to be from BT - then asked name and BT number. I refused further information on the grounds that BT already have my address and was given some unbelievable story about my mobile number having come up in some other context. Two hours later, the same message arrived on my wife s mobile. Clearly some sort of scam but I do not know what.

I have received calls from these people every day but nobody is on the line. So I emailed them and told them to remove my ex directory number immediately as they are contravening the new Data Protection Law and one more call and I will complain and they could incur as hefty fine, if I wanted their insurance I would call them, so Google Data Protection and go on their site, There is a link where you can complain. This is harassment so let s put a stop to it.
Caller wanted to ask me questions. I politely asked him to take my number off his call list and not to call again. He replied "will call you every day, will call you every day, F**k you, F**k you, F**k you" and then hung up.
Any ideas? Seems an odd number . I don t answer numbers I don t know but this one has intrigued me.

Rang at 6.30pm - I didn t recognise number so let ansafone take it - they didn t leave a message. I checked on this site to see who they were, so when the same number rang again at 7.20pm I answered (to wind them up!). A very polite sounding chap with an Indian (or similar) accent explained that he was carrying out a survey for ???????? This call immediately followed a call from another false (Asian) identity company. Please do not give any information to them but inform them instead that you will be reporting this number
Called me several times, insisting I had opted in. I used their website contact form to complain and to my surprise got a reply offering to tell me where they got my details, BUT for a fee of 10.00! They also said my numbers had been removed but they ve just called my mobile... They are now blocked. TPS/OFCOM/ICO are useless so long as these people can claim you have opted in. There needs to be a mechanism for checking and revoking opt-ins. Or better still make the default on all websites opt-OUT,
Just had a new washing machine delivered then received a call from this number who wanted me to pay extra money for insurance. Then I chose to cut the call and contact the real D & G who assured me it was a rogue call!
