An obvious giveaway for these types of calls is to ask them to spell the company name phonetically. If they use other words that are not the standard phonetic alphabet then they haven t received the training a proper company would give. CFS was spelt out Charlie, Freddie, Sugar by the caller not Charlie, Foxtrot, Sierra.

Unsolicited call trying to sell telecoms services

Called but left no message in response to my "this number blocks withheld and unrecognised numbers" message, but it is clear from the numerous other reports that it is a standard Indian "Your commputer is infected" criminal fraudster. What surprises me is that many people do not seem to realise that the number displayed is spoofed and that the call actually comes from an Indian criminals call centre. Got a call this morning from a lady. I could hardly understand a word she was saying. Thick accent and slow sounding voice. I repeatedly apologised for not being able to understand and asked her to repeat herself. She hung up.
