Had call supposedly from HMRC 'They are filing a law suite against me - press 1 to speak to case officer.' Tried it to get more info about their SCAM but number unnattainable. According to the similar messages on your website this is a common attempt at fraud. Why can nothing be done to stop these fraudsters?

We have been receiving a large number of calls since last Wednesday from various scared and vulnerable people thinking this is true. We have now had to change our phone number to stop the calls. Yep Capquest (Arrow finance/pentagon finance/universal credit). This was an old debt from over 15yrs ago which was settle as a CCJ! No idea how they got my current mobile number (i m registered to stop these calls). Keep blocking them but they just use a different number. Not helpful if you do speak to them telling them debt was a settled CCJ either.
