Probably building to a scam, claimed to be BT a UK telephone provider investigating illegal activity on my internet, when I inquired as to who might be doing illegal things the caller suggested probably foreigners! The call was made at 7am in the morning to a private number, land line and one only known to family members.

Found out it s a timeshare cold call based in Tenerife. What they actually do is speak as if they are talking to someone else saying I can t hear anyone on the other end of the line, eventually put the phone down and wait for the person to call them back, obviously at their own cost. So be warned and beware.
"Silent call". However having just had a scam call from 0233322982 and seeing reports from numbers like 02033322972 it seems this is one of a list of numbers used for neferious purposes.

Got a call from this number, the person added me on skype asking to place an ad on gumtree for them. Very pushy and harassing, went through with it as far as I could just for fun. SCAM Recorded message saying my internet is going to be disconnected and to press #1 to speak my my internet provider. Nothing in the recording identifies the internet provider or me as a customer. Clearly a scam attempt.
