I just received a call from this number by a male person of oriental descent alluding to be from the US Federal Government, some grant department in Washington DC. He notified me of my name being selected from a list of persons with no criminal record, no bankruptcy in the last 6 months and history of making payments ontime. I was told that a grant in the amount of US$9200.00 was mine if I go to a Western Union office and put US$250.00 in some kind of holding account with my personal ID number.

Indian voice said from Microsoft. Told him to get lost. He said that because I was uncooperative he was going to block my computer, he was full of threats. That got me really going and I told him to get on and block it (there is NO way he could). After me making more comments to him he rang off. Got a telephone call this evening from this number. They didn t give a name of company, but said that they were calling in relation to the recently announced scrappage scheme and were calling everyone in my neighbourhood in order to allocate a fund of ?650,000 accordingly to assist homeowners to make energy efficient improvements to their home. Received call on landline at 7.49pm today. A female voice with a non local accent said she was calling from microsoft and asked for the main owner of the computer. I said no I am practising music, strummed a few notes, and she rang off. Clearly cannot recognise talent.

I had the same experience as Dani. I d cut them off as they couldn t give me any details of our BT account when they said that our internet was about to be cut off. I phoned BT and they confirmed that our internet service was ok and the call was probably a scam. I have now blocked this number

person who phoned could not speak english good so i had to ask what he was saying he said from c.a.b. and i owed money so i asked for ref number and name of company he then said something i nit understand so asked him to repeat it he said listen you fucking moron. so i said your the arsehole calling me for some scam. he hung up lol

At best this a company that breaks the PECR regulations by calling people on the TPS list. At worst it s a scam preying on older people because they don t seem to have a website and are asking whether you re over 65. Don t give them any information, just report them to the Information Commissioner s Office. T
