The polite man with a Middlesbrough accent said my name was on the database and that it was possible that I was due money back from finance or credit in the past 10 years. Knowing that I have never had any insurance or anything connected to loans etc, I knew he was just fishing - so suggested this and he put the phone down. How he got my number is a mystery

IT’S EASY TO STOP THESE CALLS!!! Simply answer the call and pretend to be interested in what they are offering. You will probably be passed to a "manager" who will arrange for someone to visit you. Go along with it, make the appointment and when the salesman turns up tell him you are not interested and have wasted their time because they are wasting yours by ignoring the law and cold calling you.
