This is a scam number claiming that they are from the "financial markets" that will try and access your system through a remote access application. If they do not succeed this way they will attempt to take your card details including the security details on the back of your card.

Someone named Clive Roberts rang me from this number today 4/11/15 at 11am stating he was calling on behalf of 02. He said he was offering a promotion that 02 were providing. He asked me the usual how much am i paying for my payg per month, i was vague in my answers. He said he could offer me a package of unlimited free calls (to any network), unlimited texts, 2 GB of data for ?18 a month (after gauging i spent roughly ?20 a month for my credit). I live in the 01978 area code and I ve found any numbers that start 638 in my STD code area to be spam and other untrustworthy calls so I block all these numbers. 638868 has called 4 times today. All calls were left unanswered as my phone was on silent. The first three I was in work anyway so had to have my phone on silent but the last one they phoned while I was at home but still had my phone on silent so I don t know how many times each call rang for and if each call rang enough times to enable me to hav

Claimed to be calling from O2, Indian call centre. Offering a 40% discount off my next bill, but could not tell me the name of the account holder. Hung up when I asked who he wanted to speak to. Said he'd send 2 text messages for me to activate the discount!!!!! Why if he was from O2, and I was with O2 he'd have my details and could active the discount automatically. Block this number.

An automated message comes up saying the call is from HM Revenue & Customs, gives you a case file number, and says if you ignore the call, you will face legal applications. Then asks you to press 1 to speak to an adviser. The advisor distantly says she is calling from the HMRC and asks for your name. When I asked her where are you calling from again, she hung up.
looked this up. apparently its a foreign scammer that hacks into local masts to make u think its a local number as your more likely to answer. not sure if this is true but too many missed call.if genuine leave a message!
Indian/Pakistani sounding clearly calling from a call centre not in the U.K. as he had me on speaker phone and could hear him speaking with someone else as I answered the call. He asked for someone I don’t know. I told him I didn’t know the person and he got rude and aggressive with me before hanging up. I’ve blocked the number.
