I have just been called by this lot tonight and offered a ?2000 rebate as I d paid my council tax on time for several years!!! She asked how I d like to recieve my money and I asked for a cheque which I knew would be legit if she did but she asked me to ring the number and talk to her boss but it had to be immediate. SCAM: same area in Manchester from which several similar phone numbers come from. Only lets your phone ring for a short time and never leave a message. Don't call back unless you are looking for trouble! Thank goodness for answer phones and caller ID.

I received a call from this number claiming to be calling from a company (don t remember the name of the company) and is calling in relation to an enquiry that I had made online and asked me to confirm DOB and my address for security purposes. I asked what was the enquiry in relation to? He refused to answer and asked for me to confirm my details first.
