I m called from this number frequently. Nowadays I usually let the answerphone take the call, and then check 1471. Today s caller said he was from British Consumer . As TPS has confirmed, there s no such company. Someone who posted a comment here was asking why BT etc don t block these calls since the number is known. It s because BT and the other telephone providers make money offering a service that subscribers can sign up to specifically to block such calls – they ride on the back of these people

02 Nov 2021 - An Indian guy rang my mobile from this number, knew my name. I asked where he was calling from but couldn’t understand what he said, put him on loudspeaker and asked again and no one in my office could understand what he said? I asked what it was regarding and he said the rent on my address and knew my address?? I said I don’t rent my house and he put the phone down on me??? Female caller claiming to be checking if I was still receiving unwanted calls. Confirmed name and address as this can be generally obtained. However, started asking about credit card details. I replied that she was asking too many personal questions which TPS would not do and hung up.

This caller said I had been involved in a car accident. I refused to speak and told them to call back later when my husband was home. My car has never been in an accident.

Keeps calling me maybe 3 or 4 times a day answers once and never spoke to me

Asian sounding chap trying to gain access to my computer saying it was slow. Kept him talking for a few minutes to cost him the phone call. After a while he got very abusive calling me all sorts of names then hung up. Keep people like this talking so they don t have time to annoy anyone else.

Said they were calling to offer me a cheaper rewnal on my TV warranty of which I said I have not had any guarantees out on my TV for the last 10 years so they must have got false details.
