SCAM I had a call from “Carphone” today (number above) and spoke to a guy called “Elliot”, about my contract coming up. It sounded suspicious, so I asked if he could ring me later, as I was busy... I actually phoned Carphone Warehouse on their customer service line (0370 111 6565) and asked if they had tried to contact me today, from the number ending in 038. They confirmed to me that they HADN’T tried to get into contact with me and this number ISN’T on their system

This number called - I picked up the phone but did not speak. After 5 seconds the call was ended. I searched for the number and found reference to it on funnumber.in which has been mentioned against other numbers on this site. I had an accident year before last and was insured with Aviva. The called said they were from Aviva and knew this my car and name and Excess. Said claim now reached stage of getting compensation for my time off work and they could get me compensation in the next few weeks now the car damage and liability had all now been agreed. I only realised something wasn't quite right, when they didn't know the date of the accident. Required a card payment of the excess to release payment.
