Stating they are the credit investigation department, a UK government department. When questioned further, the caller revealed they were an independent company doing promotional calls.

These people call me at least 3 times a day, and it has been going on for months. The ask me if I have had any PPI in the past, they go on and on, then when I finally convince them that I dont, they then ask if I would be interested in wiping off 70% of my debts! Again, when I say no, they persist until I get rude with them. I received couple of times calls from this nuber. Everytime the lady on phone has very strong accent, hard to understand. They known my old address, Name and surname, Everytime I ve been asked to confirm my address and details and then something about loands I ve taken in last 10 yrs, credit cards.. This number comes from a agency in London working on behalf of the times newspaper. If you answer them tell them you want their registered address so you can bill them ?10 per minute, that ll get rid of them, but if the do recall then send them a invoice sent as tracked, and they have to pay you if you pursue to a small debt court. That should get rid of them once and for all. Local Police also informed
