This number called this morning and the recorded message must have started before the answerphone greeting had finished with the result that I only got a very small part of the message left. This is a scam number pretending to be from the "ONS" (Office of National Statistics) for a telephone interview following on from the National Census form completion. It was from a letter from the so called ONS but the phone number was written by hand. The letter also contained genuine numbers for the ONS to give it a realistic authenticity. They try to get you to pay a fine/ empty your bank account.

Called twice today; no message. Another number the same for the last 4 digits called a few minutes later. This was to an anonymous pay as you go phone who almost no one knows.

Text message received from Sants fraud asking me if I had made a pmt of 33458.64 to a Ali Afza? if not to call fraud on the number and not to reply by text. Luckily I worked for Santander so knew it was a scam but it is very convincing.
