New numbers like this all the time but: If you have caller ID, get a phone with "night mode" where it only rings for numbers in the stored phone memory.
Scam caller - claimed to be from Virgin. I kept them on the line for a while then when I told them I was aware they were a scammer they immediately became very abusive. Vulnerable people could be taken in.

Pre-recorded automated message (apparently from BT –NOT) plays when you answer the phone. Advises that you have been experiencing problems with your broadband service, and in order to correct the problem, you must press number 1 (one) on your phone keypad to speak to their “executive”. Call received on Tuesday 25 August 2020 at 13:05.

Got about 10 calls from this number in a matter of 5 mins, I did not answer as was working and it went to answerphone cut off and they repeatedly called again, tried to call it back in case it was to do with work but it would not connect
Took a contract out with car phone warehouse have not given out number which means car phone warehouse has passed on my number against my will. These people wana sell u BAD and EXPENSIVE phone insurance. Have phone insurance elsewhere but won t take no for an answer. Have called me 6+ times in 2 weeks.

The company is called Fresh Start and was warned about this company calling fron 0161 numbers. They re main purpose is to obtain your bank details, under no circumstances get in to a conversation with these people. they will rob you blind.

This tried calling my landline twice this morning; Google comes up with either foreign results or rubbish, so blocked.
SCAM - caller said they were calling from BT as they had identified a 'problem with our internet'. When I mentioned they had called the technical support helpline of a computer telephony integration company, they hung up very quickly.
SCAM, heard about this call before. "HMRC" wanting to talk to me about an outstanding amount, and if I didn't press 1 and be put through to the right department, then a warrant for my arrest would be issued.
Has to be a scam in the making! Answered the phone and all I got was silence the other end. Only annoying at the moment but not to be trusted.

Caller claimed to be from BT openreach calling about internet issues. They asked me to run a speed test and when I said I had 69 download and 18 upload they said that the difference was an issue. When I pointed out that it was always like that, and wasn't supposed to be the same they hung up. Obviously a scam.

Since then they have moved on to School Book scams fronted by a Kelly Griffiths under the name of Embrace Education based in Chester. It’s very rare the books get sent out, and only do if you check with school and ask for money back.
