Got a call on my mobile to say that my name has been associated with a tax fraud. This is a false allegation. Call asked me to press '1' to talk to HMRC. Naturally I hung up the call immediately.

Pre-recorded message claiming to be from BT but not sure why a British company would use someone ( or voice generation software) with a mid-Atlantic accent to deliver a message to a UK-based customer. Some rubbish about disconnecting my Internet if I don t follow instructions which, undoubtedly, would involve me in racking-up a huge phone bill, i.e. if press either 1 or 2 as instructed. I hung-up. A variation on the SCAM calls from India about problems with internet account.

They're using recorded messages now to bug people because even THEY can't be bothered to to speak to people anymore, and yet WE are supposed to be interested!!! If you a BT phone put in 1572 option 1 it will block future calls you need to press the 1 two times but instructions given on phone to block
they were trying to sell me a clip-on device for my phone to stop cold calling! how ironic! they were also asking for personal information. I just gave up in the end and politely but firmly told them to not call back.
