We, the public, the people who pay a phone company serious money every month only to be pestered , and for some actually stolen from , have got to learn how to do more , and I mean more , than just close the gate each time the horse bolts. The phone companies we pay our money to don't do nearly enough to deal with this filthy virus that is growing at a seriously dangerous rate. Reporting the numbers that try to rob us isn't nearly enough. Anything we do isn't enough. we need more info and control.

This number rang me yesterday. It was a recorded message saying money had been taken from our account by Amazon and also a money transfer. It then rang off. This is a scam number. DO NOT ANSWER IT. I was called on my mobile by someone trying to tell me that my sister (I have power of attorney) owed 53.23 to BT but if I paid the full amount by card, then she would have her line restricted and avoid further charges of 18.00 for re-connection. They were really pushy that I make a payment but I thought something was off and wouldn t give any details at all!

There was no third party involved, only myself, yet they keep on ringing and telling me this (presumably they want my bank details). Fraud! Automated message claiming the legal proceeding has started "due to Tax Evasion" and an arrest warrant has been issued. This was so obviously fraud, that I laughed at it. However this could be extremely dangerous for, say, a beginner business owner or self-employed person who are not 100% confident that they had submitted all the right forms etc (without malicious intent).

Same as 01367114033. Lady calling herself Paige Peters called me from Crawley, England out of the blue at around 5.30pm. Said she was with the Road Traffic Accidents Department and had information that I had been in an accident. When Iasked who she was and which organisation she called from she just repeated the above line. Kept asking for information about the accident until I hung up on her after a few seconds.
