Caller knew my wifes name and claimed to be from "Universal Appliances" nWhatever! - just another scam.
A recorded message said that the call was from the National Crime Agency (UK) and that my social security number had been compromised. Clearly a scam, probably phishing for information.
Stating they are the credit investigation department, a UK government department. When questioned further, the caller revealed they were an independent company doing promotional calls.

Automated recording stating that "I" was under investigation for tax fraud and that I had to push 1 to connect with an operator or would be issued with a warrant and face arrest / prosecution. No reference made to which agency or company was calling. Complete bull. These matters would not be managed through a cold call.

When I answered this number it was from the U.K and they didn't answer back so they hung up and, so I rang there ass back.
Caller with heavy Indian accent claimed to be calling from Amazon to tell me that a gift card had been purchased on my account for £49. When I didn't react as expected they hung up.
