Asian-sounding male, calling himself Mr. W., asking to speak to my brother. Asked if washing machine was alright. We recently had dishwasher repaired, so I thought call was genuine (insurers). Then asked if I was over 35. I said that was irrelevant. He persisted with question, becoming aggressive in tone. I persisted with my answer. When he asked for my postcode and name I hung up.

This number seems to be used by some call centre - I can see very similar numbers reported (01244470043, 44,45), all the same range just with last digits different, which is a common thing - they use a range of similar numbers. They are reported with different scope, but mostly as PPI offers and pensions (financial services). I tried to call the number back but no luck, number not in service - probably one-way gateway of the call centre not allowing inbound calls so you are not able to call them back. Peopl

Asked for Mr Collins which is not my name asked who I was and I did not tell them as it was a call to my mobile number. Tried to start asking me questions while I told them I was registered on TPS (yes you can register mobiles) and they should remove my number from their list astghey could now be fined for a breach of the TPS rules. Just seen on news that this kind of number is ringing people and then hanging up but when you get your bill it is as if you have answered it and been on the call from 3-12 hours. Check your bills now people!
