missed call - don t recognise the number

Phoned my Dad with the same Microsoft rubbish quoting a serial number and saying that they would disable his computer, my Dad hung up but they rang straight back. He told them to go ahead and try to disable the computer but nothing happened. He asked for the guy s name and number and he said he was Peter Connor and quoted this number. Someone must be able to track down these scum, wherever in the world they are and lock them up!

Caller hung up immediately after I accepted the call. Maybe a robot to detect phone numbers in use ?

Rings 3 or 4 times a day sometimes, I never answer it.

Oddly configured phone number. Probably one of those virtual geographic phone numbers. Rejected by my Call Blocker phone. Now permanently blocked.

Just sent me a message on WhatsApp !!!!! Message was "I am in a conference cannot speak at the moment, I am better with text messages. Deleted and blocked.

someone calling trying to sell me home insurance , very persisitent wanted to know when my renewal was etc , now blocked them

The first one asked me personal info like what I did for a living and what I was currently trading... He then said he would put me on with his highly accredited colleague who then asked me to install an app called Anydesk so that he could screen share charts with me. My car was involved in an accident, 100% liability on other driver & is going through Motability insurance (both cars are on the scheme). So no idea as to why Hastings Direct are calling me & how the heck they got my phone number!! So searched the number & got a lot of responses saying it s marketing, untrustworthy & not to respond! I m not but want to put this out there for everyone else.

Claimed to be HMRC and that I would be arrested shortly if I did not press button 1???

Gave impression that my company could qualify for a grant from HMRC. Rubbish.

Ditto all of the above!

They ignore the law by calling call TPS numbers. That alone makes them people you should not deal with.

Saw the random number and predicted immediately it would be an insurance scammer. Sure enough, English sounding girl on the phone asking about recent accident. I told her I don t want to participate in her scam. She paused a few seconds and told me she was just calling from an insurance company (didn t actually say a company name). I told her no she wasn t. An automatic message claiming to be from HMRC, saying that if I didn t press 1 then I would be arrested as there were proceedings against me.
