Clearly an illegal marketing scam. They think of anybody s name when they call and then, when you say you aren t them, they just carry on, saying that what they are selling will probably interest you anyway. Con merchants.

Just had this number call - but I never pick up the phone. Worst thing you can do, as it confirms to the other end yours is a proper phone number which will be sold on to every piece of scum in the known universe. My advice, which works a treat: tell all your real contacts to call you for the first 4 or 5 beeps, then to put the phone down. This is a scam. It comes through as a local number and tells you you have been charged a large amount by a popular online store then asks for information.
