Woman called to say "We have been informed you were in a road traffic accident which wasn t your fault, can you tell me when this happened?". I said "Who told you this?" She repeated the above? I repeated my question. She said "The RPA" or "The RTA". I asked if this was an official government agency and she said "Yes". I asked which part of government and she said "Yes". This number seems to be used by some call centre - I can see very similar numbers reported, all the same range just with last digits different, which is a common thing - they use a range of similar numbers. They are reported with different scope, but mostly call centres work for multiple clients - O2, charities... SCAM. There is no such thing as a Covid Pass. I nearly fell for it. The first thing they ask for is your GP’s post code. That made me take a 2nd look at it. Then they asked for my name date of birth address etc. I completed my mums Covid booster online form and it wasn’t like this so I pulled myself together and deleted everything and looked at the number which was a mobile. The NHS don’t send anything by text on a mobile number like that. Dangerous SCAM.

It turns out those businesses are their other client's debtors too and they use their private data illegally. Unfortunately we fell for this scam and paid. The Police let them get away with it as civil matter. The Courts are our only hope.
