A man (in a noisy office) wantimg me to get free cavity wall & loft insulation through the goverment scheme. When i told them i had my loft done in 2007 they said id need it doing again. The caller was a man with a foreign accent. He started to tell me he was calling about my computer but I decided it was a scam, told him I wasn t interested, hung up and blocked the number. I do not generally answer numbers that I do not recognise but as it was 08.30, I thought it could be somthing important.

Somebody emailed me asking me to call them on this number saying they were at one of my addresses in London but couldn't gain access to the property to read a gas meter. On tracking the number it showed up as being in Manchester so nowhere near London anyway and I actually do not have any properties in London so I suspect a spam email to get me to call this telephone number.
Actually this is a 'spoof' number - one digit short for a genuine Manchester phone number.

Just another poor sod sitting in a cramped call-centre on minimum wage wanting to know if I d ever had PPI. I let the young lady drone on for a bit, dangling the carrot of a sale in front of her, lulling her into a false sense of hope, before hanging up. Nothing personal, love; I hope you find a proper job one day. Mind you, this PPI call is a symptom of this illness that is modern Britain: a nation of betting shops, payday loan companies and call centres - all thanks to successive Labour and Tory governmen
