this number called me today at 10:51 it said that I was doing something illegal and would be cut off from the internet today. I was to press number 1 to talk to an adviser. NOT GOING TO. I called the number and it is one of those that goes dead when you finish dialing.

Received a call at 14.27 p.m. from Barclays/Barclaycard saying that two transactions had been made this morning. One for £2000.- and another one for £700.-plus. If I agree to this transaction press one, if I want to speak to someone press two. I pressed two. Then there was a pause and after a while the person with an American accent said good buy.

SCAM VERY DANGEROUS - Electronic voice claimed I'd been committing tax fraud, presumably as a means to try and extract information. Despite the London number it then connected to a callcentre in what sounded like India. They clearly had no details on me whatsoever. When I asked them who the hell they were and what their game was they quickly hung up.

There was no third party involved, only myself, yet they keep on ringing and telling me this (presumably they want my bank details). SCAM Automated call from "Amazon", confirming renewal of Amazon Prime for one year for £71 plus. Given options of "Press 1 for this, 2 for that." Of course I have not renewed an Amazon Prime membership - didn't have one to renew. I said nothing, pressed no buttons, and after about 30 seconds of silence the line dropped. It's likely they would have asked for my cc details so the could confirm/reverse the charge; I'll never know :-)
