Scam caller-hung up when my landline ansafone clicked into message.

A Google search suggests that the number, if genuine, belongs to a company called Steel Plus 1, based in Romford, Essex.

Called then hung up

Said my internet connection would be terminated. Calling from BT technical department. hung up before pressing buttons

Not a scam. Co-Op Bank, customer service centre. Asking if I wanted to upgrade my account - reasonable call, been meaning to anyway.

As other commenters have already said, asian accented callers who leave "background noise" messages on my answer-phone. Don t bother phoning them back. Tried me 3 times in 2 day s but my phone is telling me its possible fraud so I don t answer

The following steps are suggested:

The man with a distinctly foreign accent said that he was from a Broadband provider that uses the 4G network £25 a month for 18 months. But what put me off was as soon as he had finished his schpeel he asked without prompt for my bank details. I said I would get back to him next week when I had done some research into the company.

It`s a scam.

This number rung me and was silent, so I hung up and blocked the number.

This number calls regularly asking for Mrs McGee. Always a foreign sounding voice. I think they know it s not McGee but they want to engage you in conversation? I just hang up but it is so annoying. They must be trying to sell something I suppose.

Don t respond to any of their questions. They are fishing for information. Spoke to Allan who said it was an accounting company who were passed my details because I had applied for credit online and been rejected. All false.

After doing an online insurance comparison on go compare, they call 2 or 3 time in quick succession until you answer. They are just following up your quotation, but if I do a comparison on line, it s because I don t want the hassle of talking to people like this on the phone. Ironically, they were the cheapest quote but it did put me off a little. I ve still got 2 days to decide and will probably go with them so they don t really need to be doing these "follow up" calls.
