SCAM, I didn't let them continue far before hanging up on them, asking me about my interest in the stock market. Wouldn't believe that I hadn't registered with them, wouldn't give me their company name or details when I asked who had called me. Persisted even after I told them to remove my details.

They called and said it was a confidential matter and wanted my details so I asked for the companies name but refused to give it as this would prejudice the situation so I advise that their is no provision within the DPA 1988 which states that they are not allowed to disclosed their details prior to me disclosing mine.

Found out it s a timeshare cold call based in Tenerife. What they actually do is speak as if they are talking to someone else saying I can t hear anyone on the other end of the line, eventually put the phone down and wait for the person to call them back, obviously at their own cost. So be warned and beware.

SCAM/SPAM. I was called on the 26/08/20 by this number. The caller said they were from SKY (my TV, telephone and broadband provider). He informed me that he was ringing to test my modem and improve its performance. He asked me to type a few commands which included the word “SKY”. He then asked me to permit remote access. 01997 617229 called me around 4:30PM on 21 March 2023. A guy with an Indian accept was speaking, but hung-up after about 5 seconds. If you call back, it says "welcome to Farn Mart", but none of the options in the menu connect you to anyone.
