I think the caller can make money off people trying to call back? although i dont know. It could just be aggressive advertizing.

The caller said they were from BT Openreach, and had information from my router that indicated my internet wasn't performing as well as it should be. I was asked a couple of questions about what devices I had connected to the router, and was then asked if I was in front of my personal device. When they then asked me to log onto my personal device, I decided that this may not be legitimate and hung up. The background noise was very loud, as if from a call centre.
