An automated message comes up saying the call is from HM Revenue & Customs, gives you a case file number, and says if you ignore the call, you will face legal applications. Then asks you to press 1 to speak to an adviser. The advisor distantly says she is calling from the HMRC and asks for your name. When I asked her where are you calling from again, she hung up.

Some person claiming to be from o2 offering me a 40% discount on my monthly phone bill.......due to covid 19!!!! I played along for a couple of minutes & they sent text message codes which someone could genuinely assume was from o2 as they had security warnings advising not to give the code out etc but when I said I was going to run her through some security questions & asked her the 1st line of my address they hung up. Fraud - Indian call centre claiming to be from O2 but hiding behind a UK number as you are more likely to answer it. Offered savings off my bill and free upgrade wanted my details to check and the one time pass code that O2 were going to send me. Its a massive fraud once they have your account info they will go on a spending spree using your details but changing the delivery address. Just hang up or do not answer.

PaymentShield Harassment Calls Warrington Area Code 01925598604. This harassing company called PaymentShield calls me at least 3 to 4 times a day between 12:00 to 16:00. Do not give them your DOB or any other details, apparently it may be a scammer watch out. This number comes from a scammer with an Indian accent calling from outside Blackburn. He claims someone is hacking into your internet provider and wants your details to sort out the problem. He is persistent and throughout lockdown has claimed to be ringing on behalf of Amazon, BT, Virgin, credit card companies. Don’t give him any information. He is so stupid he thinks I don’t recognise his voice when he calls every two or three weeks.
