Automated/Silent call. One of a series of calls from mobile numbers starting 077 in the space of a few days. Answered first call, where automated voice said "Your Amazon Prime membership has just been renewed at a cost of £79.99. If you want to cancel this payment, press 1". I'd cancelled my Amazon Prime membership ages ago! After the first call, I screened the next few calls to my answer machine where no message was left, just silence. SCAM Had a number of calls recently offering a new iPhone. I don't use or like Apple products so they are wasting their time. 2 calls yesterday from 01208 247201 - missed the 1st, but they rang again withing seconds. As suspected, another iPhone scam call. That block of numbers is owned by Franzcom Telecoms in Bodmin, Cornwall. Something needs to be done to prevent these foreign scammers spoofing UK telephone numbers.

I had just made a purchase from Amazon and this person with a very bad line phoned claiming to be from Amazon wanting to check my details. This is the second time it has happened. Amazon do not operate like this. Be on your guard.
