It turns out those businesses are their other client's debtors too and they use their private data illegally. Unfortunately we fell for this scam and paid. SCAM Claims to be from O2 and sends texts messages during the call requesting that you tell the caller the code that is in the message for a 40% discount. An obvious scam, reported to NCSC and O2 as it looks like they’re trying to scam users into giving O2 account passcodes which is fraud. Kept her talking long enough for her to become quite rude and call me a liar, I’m not even with O2 so not sure why they’d target me, certainly not an O2 employee anyway.

Had a couple of calls from these guys now, they describe themselves as a crime prevention unit but are nothing more than an advertising company, after 10 mins of them telling me they needed my help to name and shame illegal tradesmen I asked if they were anything to do with the police or actual crime prevention at all, at that point the guy got a bit nasty and I ended the call. Avoid.
