Got a call at work for a hair appointment in Derby (approx. 200miles from where I live). Never heard of them but they knew my name and where I worked.

I received many calls last week from this number and I ve never answered because I was working. I checked online the number and I discovered that it was telemarketing from Scottish Power.

Yes, they are still operating and looks like they are having a New Year hunt for more people to con, as several friends have had calls from them over the past few days. I take great delight in stringing them along for as long as possible, listening to them get more and more frustrated as I keep asking questions about their blocking box . PPI company... they re probably as legit as any others but their documents are strewn with typos. I stupidly gave them a tiny bit of encouragement and now they won t leave me alone. Sometimes call from mobiles as they know people get used to the Manchester code...

Yes this is HSBC. I have an account with them and this was my LOCAL branch calling to make sure I was aware of changes and to ensure I was using the acc correctly. Very pleasant lady and took 5mins of my time. No problem to report.
