This number would appear to be à Plymouth number. However it is a recorded English voice about payments I have tried to make to Amazon and an International Money transfer.it is clearly a highly dangerous scam and similar to a call I had the other day from a different number with an American style voice. They don’t know your name or your card company
A robot voice told me I was under investigation for tax fraud. It said if I press 1 I can stop this by paying my overdue tax on their website.

A DIRTY P AKI TRYING TO TELL ME I HAVE BEEN IN AN ACCIDENT !!
SCAM. Automated message telling me my number had been compromised at the border with Wales (I'm in Scotland!) and to 'press 1' so that don't take legal action against me and my national insurance number. How they propose to get my national insurance number from my phone number is beyond me! Needless to say, I didn't press 1!!

I got a text saying this number had tried to call me when I was next to the phone at the time and it hadn t rung at all. I don t trust it automatically. Also I was able to find this number online which means others also don t trust it. Therefore I don t trust it. Fed up with these sorts of calls.

Person with an Asian accent (after a delay) introducing himself as Peter Thompson purporting to be from BT claimed someone in America was using my IP address and accessing emails . Asked what devices I was using to access the internet. The scammer wasn t afraid to argue back aggressively when I told him in no uncertain terms I knew this was an attempt to hack in to the internet.

PPI/Bank Charges claim company. Latest one is Endowment Policies. Aside from just hanging up, I find the best course of action with these guys is to just lie to them. Give them made-up details so they waste their time with fruitless nonsense. Tell them you paid PPI on a Swiss bank account with ?10m in funds given to you by a Nigerian prince. Keep calm and tell absurd lies, and this kind of call actually starts to be a lot of fun!
