The caller said they were from BT Openreach, and had information from my router that indicated my internet wasn't performing as well as it should be. I was asked a couple of questions about what devices I had connected to the router, and was then asked if I was in front of my personal device. When they then asked me to log onto my personal device, I decided that this may not be legitimate and hung up. The background noise was very loud, as if from a call centre.

SCAM Stated he were from Sky Broadband and there was lots of attacks and issues on my broadband connection over the last few days and therefore I needed to sort it out with him without delay and he needed me to verify my security details to continue. This number comes from a agency in London working on behalf of the times newspaper. If you answer them tell them you want their registered address so you can bill them ?10 per minute, that ll get rid of them, but if the do recall then send them a invoice sent as tracked, and they have to pay you if you pursue to a small debt court. That should get rid of them once and for all. Local Police also informed

Keep ringing me - saying there was unclaimed compensation money from an accident that happened within the last 3 years. This number and the following number; 07404235048 keeps phoning me (so far 5 times today) and a recorded message says that they are from BT and we have had a security breach with our phone line and broadband and that they are going to turn us off and trying to get us to press a button to respond to them. This number has come up 39 times and each time the person hangs up. Does he/she realise that by calling from the USA to UK is going to cost them as our line is low call for UK mainland and premium for International private callers.
