A computer voice claiming N.I. Number is being used in fraud and if i don' t call them back, i'm trying to escape justice from the magistrate in court.

This is a fake number used by scammers to try to get personal information about you. They sound very official and scary, suggesting legal action against you. I inadvertently provided them with my name, National Insurance number and name of bank before I realised that it was a phishing attempt. The caller spoke with a slightly American accent. I tried to call the number back, but it's invalid.

Called me twice so far today. Automated voice claiming to be from Mastercard/Visa, saying that £600 has been withdrawn from my account and to press 1 immediately, as my account has been compromised. Scaremongering and fraudulent. I hung up each time.

I am suspicious of this phone number. The man phoning spoke good English with a strong accent and was convincing. He told me he was from AV (antiviral program) and that my recent payment of £149 had not gone through. He offered me a discount policy at £29 for the next year. Re The failed bank payment, the bank itself stopped this money and when I spoke to my bank it was decided that the £149 seemed high for an anti viral program and there was a possibility of fraud. I was told I entered a competition yesterday and I've won an iphone 11. I've never entered any competitions.

SCAM Called on a different number trying to get me to invest in financial markets. When I asked him to take me off his list, he told me there was no point because other companies would still phone me. After I put the phone number, he phoned back on THIS number and was abusive to me.

Flagged as scam on Samsung so did not pick up. Have a business phone so would not expect personal life insurance call. Honestly, GDPR was a waste of time, penalising honest businesses but scammers and thiefs are safe? Just don't pick up a number you don't know, why would your Insurance call you? They never do.
