Called today, 11.38...Voice said "Hi my names Chris, a local energy advisor, I hope everyone is ok"....I didn't speak and after about 10 seconds the line cuts off. Initially you think its someone there, but it isn't. It says the first recorded part, then waits for a voice to answer, at which point it plays the next part, which usually talks over you. very clever, but a scam nonetheless. Just hang up or say nothing and you are good.
I have no idea why but I am repeateadly getting texts from this number and it says it is from Lurid Nature, the msg says thank you for being our client and if you are interested in more offers please visit our webpage. It seems they put me in their client list or so, even though , I have never bought anything from them

SCAM: I think it must be a scam number because he said he was calling from Carphone Warehouse which has since disbanded. he jumped in with another 'even better offer' before I'd even rejected the 1st offer. Just another poor sod sitting in a cramped call-centre on minimum wage wanting to know if I d ever had PPI. I let the young lady drone on for a bit, dangling the carrot of a sale in front of her, lulling her into a false sense of hope, before hanging up. Nothing personal, love; I hope you find a proper job one day. Mind you, this PPI call is a symptom of this illness that is modern Britain: a nation of betting shops, payday loan companies and call centres - all thanks to successive Labour and Tory governmen

Had a call from this number earlier today claiming to be Amazon security. Said that I had an order for over £300 on hold and did I want to cancel this, if so give them my mobile number so that they could reimburse my account. Told them that there was no such order and that I would check with Amazon myself and that I believed that they were scammers at which point they terminated the call. Did the check, nothing untoward on my account. Will report this to Amazon.
Number is from Pareto Law - probably found my details via a recruitment website.
