SPAM Cold Called about Life Insurance. Put the phone down when I said I was not interested. Called something Benefits or similar I think. Have now blocked

Called several times re:Scottish Power and comparing my tariff -advised several times im not interested however very persistent and will not take no for an answer. Asked more than once to remove my number from their records. Latest caller referred to me several times as "darling" to which I said I preferred he didnt , hung up and blocked the number -totally sick of it !
I don't answer numbers I don't recognize. All my contacts come up as named entries. Phone usually rings a few times with unknown numbers to me, goes to the answer phone and no message is generally left, so I check via this web site in case it could be a safe number, but so far never has been. It is worth the effort to put all your contacts into your phone, it saves older people much distress.

Rang at 21:45 (!), caller had an American accent, asking if I wanted to invest. A fairly bad tempered conversation ensued where he refused to state his company name or how he got my number. It's a scam number, people.

Well, this number is related to the RSPCA - check them at http://www.rspca.org.uk/home - but this number is used by a global call centre working for multiple charities, and the bad thing is that they share the database of numbers, so can call you not only in the name of RSPCA then... Probably I will block this number, it became just a nuisance...

I said I was not prepared to give my details and asked them to remove my telephone number. She said thats not possible as its regarding a business issue so we will call back another time. I said you will get the same answer no matter when you called back. She said thats fine we will just call back another time. I shall be reporting them to OFCOM as this is illegal.
